Climate Commitment

Our Ethos

Sustainability

Bullshake understands its industry's impact on the planet and constantly explores new ways to reduce its environmental impact to drive positive change. Following strong anti-slavery standards, supporting fair pay along its entire supply chain, offering the same pay and opportunities to all genders, and only working with carbon-neutral factories. Founded on the belief that high-quality clothing shouldn't be manufactured at the expense of people or the environment, the company strategically leverages its supply chain to offer more value without compromising its values.

Environmental concerns are at the top of our agenda. Per the 2015 Paris Agreement, we have pledged to reduce our carbon emissions by 2025 drastically - an ambitious goal based on scientific research.

To achieve this, we continually measure our environmental footprint to understand its impact and, in turn, reduce it. That means obtaining facility-level data from our suppliers to calculate climate accurately. The result then allows us to pinpoint areas of improvement that will reduce our footprint.

With time, sustainability will be integrated into every aspect of our business. Our ultimate goal is to minimize our environmental impact and grow sustainably.

Our goal is to continue growing without applying additional pressures on the environment. Therefore, we are constantly researching innovative materials that will maintain the quality of our products and have a low impact on the planet.

Cotton

80% of the cotton yarns used in our Spring/Summer 2023 collection are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Recycled Polyester

Our recycled polyester is sourced from the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE. The community’s SEAQUAL® YARN is a 100% post-consumer recycled polyester thread. It comprises approximately 10% Upcycled Marine Plastic and 90% post-consumer PET from land sources.

Learn More About Our Materials

We clean up after ourselves.

Ecommerce deliveries have a carbon footprint. That's why we support cutting-edge companies that remove carbon from the air.

Together, participating businesses have…

Removed more than thousands of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere.

Provided carbon-neutral shipping for more than millions of orders.

Here's how it works: For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on those estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. Those companies use that money to remove however much carbon our shipments created. Any extra funds go toward the further development of carbon removal technologies.

Let's meet a few of the companies removing carbon from the sky.

Grassroots Carbon

Grassroots Carbon helps ranchers modify land management practices to improve soil and ecological health, which captures and stores more carbon in soil.

Mast Reforestation

Mast Reforestation combines proven forestry practices with new technology to regrow healthy, resilient, climate-adapted forests lost to wildfires. Mast’s services include seed collection, seedling cultivation, reforestation services, and financing based on high-quality carbon removal credits.

Our mission is to create high-performance products with the lowest possible footprint.

We have divided our goal into three phases. For Scope 1 and 2, we aim to reduce our carbon emissions by 80% by 2025, meaning all internal operations will be run on renewable energy. For Scope 3, which represents 99% of our global emissions, we will push for a 30% reduction of emissions per product.

Traceability is at the core of our sustainability objective. Our in-depth knowledge of our supply chain means we can select which solution or supplier will help us meet our reduction targets.

In 2022, we collected 99.7% of actual data in the emission mapping of our supply chain. This analysis showed that approximately 23% of our suppliers source over half their energy from renewable sources. It also showed that approximately 90% of our purchased fabric in 2022 was sourced from Gold Certified Manufacturers. This knowledge is essential in benchmarking and goal setting for future collections. In addition, it gives us insight into best practices in production, which in turn allows us to make alternative design choices to reduce our carbon footprint.

In the interest of health and safety, we have set a Code of Conduct to ensure a high standard of working conditions. These requirements include but are not limited to fair wages and working hours, the right to a trade union, and a ban on forced and child labor. We also have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination of any kind, bribery, and corruption.

Bullshake has always been and will always be encouraging diversity in all forms. The vision for the company is to create a platform where ideas and people can grow and prosper.

Because ethics and sustainability are our responsibility too!
